DIY Teacher Gift
Can you believe it is May 1st tomorrow?? So crazy how fast time flies. And with us jumping into May, that means the school year is coming to an end and it's time to think about all those wonderful teachers who worked with (and put up with) our dear children all year :)
I actually saw this idea floating around last year, but ran out to time to get it done.
So, supply wise you'll need a pot, paint, sponge brushes, a pretty plant and then whatever finishing touches you want to include. And the rest is pretty simple.
Cute, sweet and personal gift for your child's teacher.
And please tell me how this girl will be a second grader next year? Slow down father time!
Have a wonderful day!

Easy Appetizer
Hey there! I hope everyone's week is off to a great start. I feel like it's been forever since I've shared a recipe on here. I'm definitely all about easy recipes with "normal" ingredients. If I have to search all over for an ingredient or question what it is, I can assure you I'm moving on to something else. We had my parents visiting over the weekend and I put together this really easy appetizer that I wanted to share. Basically a few of my favorite ingredients sprinkled over toasted bread, but oh so good together!
Ingredents
- Kalamata olives sliced
- Cherry tomatoes sliced
- Cucumber diced
- Feta crumbled
- Hummus of choice (I use roasted garlic)
- Bread of choice (I used whole clove artisan)
- Sea salt and pepper
- Slice bread if not already done and brush with olive oil.
- Place in oven on 350 for about 5 min or until slightly toasted.
- Allow to cool and then spread a layer of hummus.
- Add olives, tomatoes, cucumber, feta.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Enjoy!
Have a great day!

Spring Window Boxes
I love gardening, and especially flowerbed gardening. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do in the Spring time! Strolling through the garden center is my happy place. Last week in between all our rain, I squeezed in a little time to get our front window boxes done.
So this one I finished is below our front study window. And you might noticed there is also a box under one of our second story windows. That window is Lyla's room and she keeps begging me to plant something in that one...not going to happen little girl :) That one will stay decorative only!
They still need to fill out a bit more, but I already love pulling up to our house and seeing all the colorful blooms.

Coral Maxi Crush
Happy Friday! I'm so late getting around to posting today, as my kids had early dismissal today and then friends coming over after school, which left me only a little bit of time to get a million things done. But I got them fed and settled upstairs with their friends, giving me a little window to share my really cute find with you all, before the sale ends. I ordered this adorable maxi dress yesterday. It's on sale for $38 and has over 300 good reviews. It comes in this yummy coral and black. I got the coral and can't wait to get it! I think it will be perfect for Summer. I love it paired with these earrings and this necklace. And then finished off with these sandals and this adorable clutch in the taupe color.
Anyways, Nordstrom is having some great sales right now with up to 40% off. And with their free shipping and returns, they are one of my favorite stores to shop on-line.
Have a beautiful weekend!

Spring Refresh
Spring is in full bloom here and it's given me the urge to refresh our home with some vibrant colors. What I love about my neutral palette home is that I can very easily change the look by adding a few new pieces. By keeping a neutral base, I can sprinkle in pops of color with decorative accents and accessories. I love how the bright colors really pop against my white walls and neutral furniture. So, inspired by all the Spring flowers blooming now, I've gathered a few bright, fun accessories below that will definitely refresh your home and bring that Spring vibe indoors.

Are you excited about the Lilly Pulitzer line coming to Target? A few of these are from that line, which launches next week April 19th!
Enjoy your day!

Instagram Lately
Hi there! Are you on Instagram? It's definitely my favorite social media channel. I post a lot of my blog pictures on there and then some of our personal pictures as well. So today I thought I would share a few pictures from my IG feed that I haven't shared on here.
First up is Lyla's "naked" cake I made for our little family celebration at home. She had her American Girl Baking Party which included an Eiffel Tower cake the weekend after her birthday, but we still wanted to celebrate with her on her actual birthday which fell during the week. So I made this one from a box cake and topped it off with hot pink roses!
February and March is Rodeo Houston time! We took the kids and spent time at the carnival, livestock area and then finished off the night with a performance by Blake Shelton!
Still one of my favorite tops this Spring. (Limited sizes still available.)
Walking our new pup around the neighborhood has been our favorite new activity.
Love opening our shutters and letting the sunshine pour in! And this new floral pillow has been a perfect addition to our all white bedding!
Baseball is in full swing. This is Preston's fifth year to play, but the first year of kid pitch. We've been through t-ball, coach-pitch, machine-pitch and finally I feel like it's the real deal.
A couple of my favorite fashion pieces as we transition to warmer weather. Love these white skinny jeans and this shirt. The top is currently sold out, but here's a similar one I love too (and it's on sale!)
And probably the most exciting thing for us has been this new addition...our "oodle" Sadie. More on her coming soon :)
Love our knockout roses this time of the year!
And this dress! Love, love, love it! I have it in black and pink and it's the most flattering, wrinkle free go-to dress.
And finally daffodils! So pretty!
So that's what's been happening on Instagram lately! Have a beautiful day!
P.S. I updated my "SHOP" tab with a few new pieces. You can check it out here :)

Jumpsuits

I hope everyone had a fun weekend! We decided not to travel anywhere for Easter this year, and I have to say it sure feels nice to start the week off rested instead of playing catch up.
What are your thoughts on the jumpsuit tread? I have a major crush on them! And there are so many styles I love! I recently bought this one and this one from Target for $29 and love them both. I'm still deciding if I like the wide leg or skinny leg look better. But for the price, I might just keep both :)
So today I put together the look above with this jumpsuit from J.Crew and then did a jumpsuit roundup below.

Easy Easter Treats
Today is our last day of school and work before we have a long holiday weekend! So before I sign off for the week to celebrate Jesus' resurrection, I wanted to share these easy treats I made.
Cupcakes are such an easy, inexpensive fun treat to make for special occasions or celebrations. I usually keep a box cake mix in my pantry, so when I'm in a pinch to make something I always have a back up. My kids love cupcakes, so I made these golden butter cupcakes and topped them off with a simple candy flower. I did not do much Easter decorating this year, but I did pick up this cute bunny platter to add to my Easter décor
Enjoy your holiday weekend with your family and friends! Happy Easter!
